This blog is for talking about reading resources for computer science. It is intended for a high school reading level, but good reading is good reading.
My educational philosophy is relatively simple.
I believe that educators should motivate their students to learn as much as possible from them. To do this, they should make their lessons as interesting, relevant, and enjoyable as possible. When lessons are fun, they don't seem like school anymore. When they are relevant, students see why they are important. Whey they are enjoyable, students like school.
Instilling a growth mindset is also important. A growth mindset exists when students look at failure as a challenge rather than a deficit, they see their abilities as something that can be improved, and they persevere in the face of difficulty. Instilling a growth mindset can be accomplished by teaching students that effort is valuable rather than intelligence or talent.
